27th Wednesday  cold weather freezes a nights & thaws a days & is muddy I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick [in margin] snowed Casper Watson & Nella Green were married about this time.

28th Thursday  cold for March & muddy  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 sick & lonely.

29th Friday  A cold raw day thawed & made it muddy  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick & lonely.

30th Saturday  A cold day for March & froze at night  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 9 & went to bed at 10 ½ about sick with a cold Mrs Stone stayed all night with sister  My cow calved this forenoon [in margin] Mrs Stone stayed.

31st Sunday  A fine pleasant morning but cloudy day & cool  I did my choars went to office then got Grant & Resseguie to come & help  Willsons cow calve in morning  I choared round house Ed Munk called, was at office in evening went to bed at 10 [in margin] Willson cow calved.

April 1st Monday Cool disagreeable weather for April  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick & lonely.

2nd Tuesday  cool disagreeable weather with bad roads  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 tiard & sick Town meeting.”

13th Wednesday  A cold morning thurmometer at 10 degrees below zero in morning  A cold day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard sick & lonely—Sister was nirvas & lightheaded.

17th Sunday  A cold windy  morning & day with a flurry of snow on the ground cold tonight  I did my choars & choared round the house all day called at Scovills & Willsons in the morning went to the office in evening & made up the mail came home & called to Willsons came home & went to bed at about 9.

18th Monday  rather a fine cool March day  I did my choars was at the office the most of the day came home  about 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick Sally Munk came in afternoon.

19th Tuesday  rather fine cold March weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 tiard & sick, lonely & about discouraged  Sally Munk was here all day & went to Donation in evening [in margin] Donation at Methodist Church.”

7th Thursday  A damp muddy day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold & lonely T Galusha & Ed went back to Alabama, Mrs Anna Warren died at Rockford at night.

8th Friday  A muddy day but not cold  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 tiard & nearly sick with a cold & lonely—.

9th Saturday  A cloudy damp day & looked like a storm damp & mist in evening  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 tiard & nearly sick & lonely—Charles Estes called at the store & went to Bliss to stay all night  Mrs Anna Warren was buried at our burying ground today.

10th Sunday  A damp misty day & rained last night & broak a way some in afternoon & grew cold some  I did my choars was at the house all day & evening except to go to the office & fix the mail & called at Willson twice went to bed at about 9 sick & homesick, sister sick [in margin] sister was sick & nurvis & figoty.

11th Monday  rather cold for March  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at about 9 ½ about sick with a cold & lonely.

March 1st Friday  A damp warm cloudy day grew cold at night & froze I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold.

2nd Saturday  rather a cold windy day ground frozen hard  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ or 10 nearly sick, the Baptist had a Covenant meeting & 15 went forward to be baptized towmorrow [in margin] H Gould brought me up 2 piggs.

3rd Sunday  A cold day with some flurrys of snow  I did my choars was round home the most of the day choaring round went to the post office about noon called at Willsons  she was sick had Doctor last night came home wrote some & choared round went to office in evening came home & went to bed at about 9 nearly sick  sister sick & nirvus there were some 12 baptised today by Elder Hunt [in margin] sister sick figoty & melanchy.

4th Monday  rather a fine cool day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard sick & lonely as death—.

21st Thursday  A fine pleasant winter day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ about sick Dutch Saloon widow married [in margin] Quarterly meeting.

22nd Friday  A fine pleasant day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home & went to bed at 9 ½ about sick  Ball at Perrys Tavern [in margin] joined the Methodist class.

23rd Saturday  A fine thawey day grew cold at night  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick with a cold [in margin] sister ________ & ________.

24th Sunday  A fine pleasant cool day  I did my choars was at home till 11 when I went to L Kenyon to see Uncle Daniel, got there at 1 started home at a little before 5 got home about 6 did my choars went to office called at Willsons came home wrote some & went to bed about 10 tiard & about sick  Willson & family went to York Center to Barrus they got home about 8  Sister getting feeble again.

25th Monday  rather fine thawey weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold [in margin[ Sister in a ______ turn.

26th Tuesday  A thawey muddy day & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ about sick Sister a getting in to an other nirney turn [in margin] dancing school at Perrys.”

30th Wednesday  quite warm & pleasant for winter  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick.

31st Thursday  A warm foggy damp day thawed fast & bid fair to spoil our sleighing but grew cold towards morning & froze  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick [in margin] I went to Naperville to make pension papers.

February 1st Friday  More cool & pleasant  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick [in margin] __________ meeting.

2nd Saturday  A cool cloudy day & snowed quite fast the after part of the day & blew a pretty tedious afternoon  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with cold.

3rd Sunday  A fine pleasant day with conciderable snow & good sleighing  I did my choars & started with Willsons folks for H Goulds ¼ beore 11 got thru about noon stayed till after 4 ½ & started for home got home before dark  I did my choars was at office came back & went to bed about 9 nearly sick  Felker & the man & his wife that works Felkers place were there Gould was abed all the time [in margin] Willson folks & I went to Goulds he was sick.

4th Monday  fine winter weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold [in margin] meeting.

5th Tuesday  rather fine weather for winter  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold etc.”

5th Saturday  A cloudy snowey morning with 2 or 3 inches of snow on the ground, cleared off & grew cold towards night & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold.

6th Sunday  rather a cool cloudy morning but cleared off some in middle of day & was quite pleasant  I did my choars was at home the most of the day a fixing the howel & went to the office twice wrote some in the evening called at Willsons they went to Shermans about 4 came home went to bed about 9 quite sick with a cold.

7th Monday  rather a fine winter day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard & about sick with a cold.

8th Tuesday  A fine cloudy day not verry cold  I did my choars was at the office all day etc came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & about sick with cold [in margin] Mr Storm was here ________.”

13th Thursday  A cool raw cloudy day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick [in margin] Willson halled salt from Winfield both of them.

14th Friday  A cool garden & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick R Willson halled 2 tun of coal.

15th Saturday  A cool raw cloudy day  & began to snow a little in the evening I did my choars was at the at the office all all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick  S Willson drew me 1 day coal.

16th Sunday  the snow fell several inches last night & it snowed some amost all day, I did my choars was at home the most of the day  I went to the office 4 times & helped Willson cover the howels with straw wrote some & went to bed about 9 tiard & nearly sick with a cold had been out in the cold the most of the day.

17th Monday  rather a fine day for December  I did my choars was at the office all day & in the evening came home 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick.

18th Tuesday  fine weather for the season  snow & showers  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick.”

L. Hunt at Carpenters today & went to Chicago in afternoon & to St. Louis tomorrow  William Carpenter & Netta Fowler & S Heys & Sarah Jane Carpenter stood up with the bride & groom they had quite a wedding.

22nd Thursday  a cloudy cold disagreeable day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & about sick.

23rd Friday rather a cool cloudy day & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

25th Sunday rather a fine pleasant day & evening but cool  I did my choars was at the office three times was at home the most of the day a choaring round was at Carolines some in evening came home at ____ wrote & went to bed at 9 nearly sick  Wm Whitny came & brought Gould wife & child up & Willson went & wife & carried them back as Whitny was selubrious  Gould got kick with a colt last night.
