16th Wednesday  A fine warm dry day, the ground verry dry  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick with a cold & trouble, Gould etc commenced putting down Jonathan Pollard well.

17th Thursday  A fine hot day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 nearly sick etc.

18th Friday  A fine hot dry day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ and went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold etc.

19th Saturday  A fine hot dry day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 nearly sick etc [in margin] Caroline & Mrs Stone went to Naperville.

20th Sunday  A fine hot dry day, the ground is verry dry, I did my choars was at the office about 9 & R B Pollard cut my hair  I came home and choar house & choared round picked apples etc was at home all day & went to bed about 9 sick  Abner Stone & Emma came & wrote a letter for Mrs Stone.

21st Monday  rather a fine day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ and went to bed at 9 nearly sick with a _________ Edward Monk & Adda Germain were married this morning at 10 & started to Michigan.

22nd Tuesday  rather fine weather for Oct  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ about sick.”

12th Thursday  fine dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out [in margin] Jesse Graves married to Mrs Wood or Blackman.

13th Friday  rather cloudy & a light shower  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ & worne out [in margin] G Lindsey came out.

14th Saturday  A fine cool day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard sick & worne out.

15th Sunday  a fine warm day with a light shower about one or half past. I went to the office & back choared round the house etc, Mrs Stone went up to Charles Owens after breckfust, I fixed a cider barrel etc & went to bed about 9 nearly sick  Sister acted like the verry devile all day & I got so confused I could hardly stand it.

16th Monday  rather a fine day & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ and went to bed at 10 nearly sick with trouble.

17th Tuesday  rather a fine day with a shower at night  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick.”

10th Wednesday  fine weather but some cloudy  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick & worn out.

11th Thursday  fine growing weather with clouds  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick with a cold & down harted with trouble  Miss Lovina Root & a man at Batavia a painter were married, so said.

12th Friday  A fine cool day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 tiard & nearly sick with troubles, windy.

13th Saturday  a fine cool hay day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening cae home a 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 tiard lonely & nearly sick with trouble [in margin] S Willson & wife went to Coral.

14th Sunday  A fine pleasant cool airey day with some clouds  I did my choars was at the house all day except going to the office & back I mowed some round the house & choared round the house took a nap at noon & went to bed at about 9 nearly sick with troubles, Mrs Stone went to meeting in forenoon.

15th Monday  fine weather for haying  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick, Resseguie commenced mowing at house.”

16th Tuesday  fine hay weather  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick & worn out with trouble.”

3rd Wednesday  disagreeable weather & bad roads  I did my choars was at the office all day came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick  Sister we carried over to Dr Waterman in afternoon  She stayed all night.

4th Thursday  A cloudy damp day cooler toward night  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick & lonely  I brought Sister from Dr Watermans about 9  F Gary brought us in a buggy.

5th Friday  A cold disagreeable morning with a flurry of snow on the ground & frozen it snowed a little flurrys today  I did my choars was at the office all day & came home at 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 sick  Sally Munk went home & Mrs Stone came & stayed–.

6th Saturday A cold morning with the ground frozen  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ & had a fine rest but was about sick  Mrs Stone was here & stayed all night  Sally Munk at home.

7th Sunday  A verry fine warm day & evening  I did my choars went to office & got some medacine came home  choared round all day was at the office in the evening came home & went to bed about 9 nearly sick about 9  Mrs Stone was here all day & night except going home at noon a ____________.

8th Monday rather a fine day but cool  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick with a cold [in margin] Mrs Stone here.

9th Tuesday  rather fine cool for April  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick  Sister pretty bad off.”

12th Saturday  A cool cloudy day & snowed in afternoon & evening, I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick with a cold  Sargent near Naperville died.

13th Sunday  A cloudy damp day but not cold  I did my choars was at the house the most of the day went to the office a little before noon & Fowler came back with me looked over Mr Hoyts bedding & partly packed it to send to Albert Grant,  I choared round went to the office in evening came home wrote some choared some & went to bed about 9 sick with a cold.

14th Monday  rather fine winter weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard tiard lonely & nearly sick with a cold.

15th Tuesday  fine weather & quite good sleighing  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold & lonely [Mrs Stone washed].”

27th Thursday  fine weather for the season  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick  George left & went to Willsons today or tomorrow.

28th Friday  rather a fine cool day  I did my chaors was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick  George left & went to Willsons & stayed tonight & Mrs Stone Storm was here.

29th Saturday   pretty fine cold day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard lonely & about sick  J K Pollard came out last night went back.

30th Sunday  rather a cold day the coldest morning we have yet had Mercury 8 degrees below zero a verry cloudy evening but more mild  I did my choars was at the house all day & evening called at the office at noon & night sold 3 cans of oysters, choared round the howel & fixed it some went to bed at about 9, tiard & sick [in margin] Jesse Wheaton & Sarah M. Brown were married.

31st Monday  rather a fine cloudy day  I did my chaors was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold.

1st Tuesday, January 1867  rather a fine pleasant day & evening but cool  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard lonely & about sick with a cold  Mrs Stone made a New Years, & had the Willsons & Perrys people & Cowens to dinner they had a fine time.”

19th Wednesday  cloudy & a little snowey  I did my choars went to the office & started to Naperville with Henry B. Fowler about 10 ½ & was appointed gardion for Wm W Wray eat dinner at Hiram Fowlers & got home about 3 to store came home 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold.

20th Thursday  a fine cloudy day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed 9 ½ nearly sick [in margin] Taylor came from Iowa.

21st Friday  A thawey cloudy day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick with a cold.

22nd Saturday A warm thawey day & rained in the evening  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ bed at 9 ½ sick.

23rd Sunday  A warm damp cloud day the wind changed northerly at night & was more cool  I did my choars was at office about 9 came back choared round banked up my house etc went to Store in evening came home at 6 called at Willsons caught chickens for them wrote some & went to bed 9 sick.

24th Monday  rather a fine cool day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ went to bed at 9 ½ about sick.

25th Tuesday  A beautiful day for Christmas but some cool  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick  I eat dinner & supper at Willsons S Willsons Jackson Butterfield & their wives were there & Mrs Stone. They went home after dark we had beer [in margin]  I eat supper at Willsons & others Sidwell pushed the door open tonight.”

2nd Thursday A fine cool day was frozen in morning but thawed during day I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed tiard lonely & nearly sick with cold.

3rd Friday rather fine cool weather for March freezes & thaws. I did my choars was at the office all day & in the evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard lonely & nearly sick with a cold [in margin] Soldiers had an oyster supper at H D Fowlers tonight those that have enlisted.

4th Saturday rather fine weather but some cold, thaws in the sun but not in the shade I did my choars was at the office all day came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ or 10 tiard lonesome & nearly sick with a cold Black Jerry Roberts or Robins, baby died about 2 week old next Monday.

5th Sunday rather a fine cool day, thawed in the sun dureing the day but froze in the shade I did my choars eat breckfust went to the office came back choared round the house some went to the office about one came home cleaned out the howel red & wrote some did my choars went to office & made up the mail came home & went to bed about 9 tiard lonely & nearly sick a lonesome day G O Potter & wife went to Griffeths about noon got back about 8 [in margin] we had some oysters for breckfust G O Potter went with his wife to the Griffeths.

6th Monday rather a fine day but muddy I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick with a cold, lonely [in margin] Boys went to Joliet to be examine for the army F Brown Beardsley & others.

7th Tuesday A beautiful warm pleasant spring morning with a light shower about 3 in morning grew cooler about noon was quite a cool night snowed toward tomorrow morning I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ lonely tiard & nearly sick with a cold, G O Potter & wife went to Chicago & was going to Kankakee, G. E. P left overcoat at home.

8th Wednesday Rather a cool snowey morning & day a cold night snow fell 3 or 4 inches, I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ went to bed 9 ½ lonely & sick [in margin] Mrs. Stone mooved to Col Red house.”

“13th Thursday fine weather for the season. I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard lonely & sick & downhearted.

“14th Friday fine cloudy weather. I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard lonely [in margin] Carpenter got home from Massachusetts.

“16th Sunday rather a fine day but cloudy in afternoon & evening. I did my choars & went after my cows below Hunts new school house, my cows got out of Hoyts into Carpenters & Waddle turned them into the road. I hunted till near noon, I picked a few apples what I had, & choared round the house did my choars went to office in evening came home early & went to bed about 9 nearly sick had been all day slep but little last night [in margin] Mrs Stone stayed with Leb.

“17th Monday rather fine weather for the season, I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick & lonesome.

“18th Tuesday rather fine weather for Oct I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ and went to bed about 9 ½ tiard lonely & nearly sick. Mrs. Potter & Charly had been at home all day she was more pleasant & I was more at home—than for the last 6 months [in margin] all was right for the first since April.
