12th Thursday  A fine day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out.

13th Friday  fine warm weather  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out.

14th Saturday  A fine warm day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

15th Sunday  A fine warm day but some cloudy  I did my choars was at the house the most of the day a choaring round & went to the office three times came home & went to bed at about 9 nearly sick  Mrs. Stone & Nelson were here to supper and Ben Hoath came at supper time & stayed in evening till  I sold 11 turkeys to Warner 113-3/4 # at 10 cts.

16th Monday  rather fine weather  I did my choars was the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

17th Tuesday  fine weather for Nov  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

5th Thursday  a fine day for Nov.  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out  Grant & others went to Wheaton to see the poll book but they would not let them see the book nor give the vote.

6th Friday  A fine day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick, Waterman came to Naperville & demanded the poll book & took them to Wheaton & counted up & made the Wheaton ticket beat by fraudulent votes Henry Dasenbrouck died this evening about 10 oclock.

7th Saturday  A cloudy damp day & rained in afternoon & evening, I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick  Henry Dasenbrook died last night.

8th Sunday  A cloudy damp misty morning & day  I did my choars was at the house a choaring the most of the day went to office came home & went to bed at 9 about sick  Dasenbrooks funeral was today [in margin] Mr Dasenbrook was buried Dunlap preached at the Baptist meeting house.

9th Monday  a fine day for Nov  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick [in margin] Thomas Homer jumped into the well.

29th Thursday  pretty fine for Oct  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick etc [in margin] Crist from Warren came here.

30th Friday  A pretty fine day but began to rain about 4 was a rainey night with some lightning  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick Crist was here from Warren.

31st Saturday  Some cloudy & rainey in morning  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne to with trouble.

November 1st Sunday  rather cloudy in morning but cleared off pleasant & a beautiful afternoon & evening  I did my choars was at office 3 times, choared round the house & went to bed at 9 nearly sick & worne out  Eliza & Crist went to Naperville to H Goulds came back at about dark & went to meeting with Cal in evening.

2nd Monday  rather a fine day & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at about 9 ½ nearly sick etc there was a festival at the Methodist Church and a meeting by Naperville folks  Dunlap etc  they took in about 80 dollars & got about 50 dols of it for the bell to the church  Warner had his mule stolen last night a Sunday night or about one oclock this morning & he has been up in my back field about 8 oclock  he was followed to Salt Creek & they went to _________.

3rd Tuesday  a fine day  I did my choars was at the office all day except going to election in afternoon came home 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ Crist started back to Warren this morning we honestly elected the Naperville ticket but the Wheaton polls were kep open till Friday before they would give their number of votes they put in a lot of fraudulent _________ & elected their men, Childs for Legislation Rinehart for Sherrif, Hull for Recorder, Hill for county clerk & Hagaman for Coroner & cheated Robins out of the legislature, Grant from Sherrif, Gloss from Recorder, Lewis C. Stover from Clerk & Price from Coriner [in margin] Election at Wheaton was a fraud for they changed voats & added voates by the poll back.

24th Saturday  fine weather for Oct  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with trouble  John Billings & lady left Sim Billings this forenoon for Aurora, they came yesterday.

25th Sunday  A most beautiful warm pleasant day  I did my choars was at the office in morning at noon & night, was round the house the most of the day a choaring etc went to bed about 9 nearly sick  Mrs Stone & Eliza McNelly went to Wheaton with Emma  Stone for her to go to Indiana  Benjamin Hoath came.

15th Tuesday  A fine day for the season  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with Sister [in margin] Wheaton fair commenced today.

16th Wednesday  fine weather  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with Sister  Ben & Eliza went to the Fair & back & then to the Ball at Wheaton in evening & to his fathers to stay over night.”

27th Thursday  A fine hot day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with trouble  Crosier thrashed on mine they had 576 bushels of oats & 13 ½ bush wheat.

28th Friday  A fine day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at about 10 tiard & nearly sick & worne out with trouble & sister  George McCauley from lotts creek came here at 11 & stayed all night, he wanted Eliza McNelly to go back with him Kenyon went to Aurora & got a revolver [in margin] Caroline sick.

29th Saturday  A fine day but sprinkled a little in the forenoon & was clouds  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly worne out with Sister, Mc Cauley started about 12 to go back to Iowa without Eliza but she wanted to go  Mooved to Aurora  [in margin] Caroline sick  McCuly started __________.

30th Sunday  A fine day but rather cloudy  I did my choars was round the house the most of the day went to store forenoon & evening came home & went to bed about 9, Rol Willson went to Naperville  Mrs Stone came here.

31st Monday  rather fine weather  I did my chaors was at the office all day came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & worne out with Sister.

September 1st Tuesday  rather a fine day for Sept  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & worne out with Sister  Daniel Kenyon set up all night & had 2 revolvers A wagon passed by & hitched at my store & three men came part way up the hill, one came up oposit Kenyons, the other two could not be seen, some one rattled the bedroom window Jose Helm sprang to the window & Kenyon with his revolver at the same time, soon after there was a quear smell which spread all over the house & came pretty near putting Kenyon to sleep he had to rais the window in the butry he looked bad, the house was clear of smell in 3 or 4 hours [in margin] Daniel Kenyon set up all night with a revolver in hand.
