4th Wednesday  rather fine for Sept. I did my choars was at the office all day came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick.

5th Thursday  rather a fine day for the season  I did my choars was at the office all day came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick.

6th Friday  some cloudy with a light shower  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick.

7th Saturday  A fine day for Sept  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & about sick.

8th Sunday  A fine pleasant day  I did my choars got Bliss horse & Pollards carriage & went to Batavia & got my sister & brought her home got home between 3 & 4 choared round & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with trouble etc.

9th Monday  rather a fine day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out [in margin] thrashed oats Owen machine.

10th Tuesday  fine weather  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ and went to bed at 9 ½ sick & worne out with trouble.”

21st Wednesday  fine weather for the season, I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick with a cold etc.

22nd Thursday  rather fine weather  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ and went to bed at about 10 nearly worne out with trouble, Wallace Jones & a Miss Taylor were married at her fathers below Naperville & Hobsons Mills.

23rd Friday  fine dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick with a cold W Jones & lady went to DuPage.

24th Saturday  A fine day & warm  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ and went to bed at 10 nearly sick with a cold etc.

25th Sunday  A fine pleasant warm day  I did my choars was at the office after breckfust came back & choared round the house & fixed my eve spouts etc went to bed at about 9, about sick, William M Butler & children came here about 10  I put his horse out & he went with the children to Bliss & to meeting came back about 1 & then went to Bliss & Carpenter went with him & children to the burying ground, he came back & eat supper between 3 & 4 and started for Danby about 4 ½ Cal & Rol came here at night.

26th Monday  A fine day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 sick  Rol Cal, Mrs Stone & George went to Naperville & got back about 4 they called at Mr Goulds  George got his photograph taken.

27th Tuesday  it rained a part of the day I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick.”

8th Thursday  A fine pleasant hot day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 nearly sick & worne out with trouble  Resseguie stack the first part of my oats, Charles R Leonard got here from New Lebanon at noon.

9th Friday  a fine forenoon but several showers in the afternoon  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick.

10th Saturday  A pretty fine day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick  Charles went to Naperville in forenoon & to Carpenters in the afternoon with Mrs Bliss & got back in the evening [in margin] R B Pollard got home tonight.

11th Sunday  A fine cool pleasant day with some clouds  I did my choars went to office with Charles & back choared round the house some & laid down in the middle of day & went to bed about 9 tiard & nearly sick  Dr Charles Estes & wife & daughter were here after supper & stayed a short time with Mrs Bliss, they with Carpenters folks were at Bliss to tea  Charles went & stayed to Carpenters over night.

12th Monday  rather a fine day with a shower in afternoon or several showers  I was at the office all day came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 nearly sick, Charles Leonard went to Aurora with Mrs Bliss & got home after dark  they went to P. Carpenters & took supper.

13th Tuesday  A cloudy muddy morning but more pleasant in afternoon I did my choars was at the office in the morning & got ready & started for Batavia with my sister about 10 oclock  got there at noon & got back at 3 P.M. was at the store the rest of the day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 nearly sick & worne out with trouble [in margin] I took Sister to the Insane hospital at Batavia.”

13th Saturday  A fine warm day the warmest we have had   I did my chaors was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick sprinkled in evening [in margin] Dr Estes was here.

14th Sunday  A cloudy day & sprinkled a good shower of the day  I did my choars was at the house the most of the day called at the store 3 times & Bliss twice choared round the house & went to bed at about 9 nearly sick with a cold Doctor C Estes was here & went to Connells & cut off Mrs Connels pallet & then went home.

15th Monday  rather a cloudy damp day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick with a cold & downhearted.

16th Tuesday  rather a fine weather for April  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 tiard & nearly sick with a  cold.”

November 1st Thursday  rather fine but cool & some cloudy  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard lonely & sick, Schovell & wife Fredenhagen & wife, Sim Billings & wife & Caroline Willson went down to Naperville in the stage to a Ball & Caroline came back home with R Pollard.

2nd Friday  rather a fine day but some cloudy  I did my choars was at the office all day came home 8 ½ to bed 9 ½ tiard & sick.

3rd Saturday  rather a cloudy disagreeable day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick  Henry Rogers was married to Roset Beardsly this afternoon at Turner by Methodist minister.

4th Sunday  A cold cloudy raw day & cleared off in evening  I did my choars & went to Goulds with Bliss horse Wallace went with me got home at sunset went to Salors & got my photograph taken went to store in evening went to bed at 8 ½ sick Roll Cal went to Sher Willsons.

20th Thursday  A cold raw cloudy day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold  George Sidwell came back from Rockford chilled through & nearly sick  Fredenhagan was in stage with him.

21st Friday  more pleasant with quite a frost & froze water thurmometer down to 30 degrees above 0  I did my choars was at office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick, Mr James Knox died this morning about 2 oclock.

22nd Saturday  rather a fine morning with a heavy frost & froze, I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick Knox was buried at one.

23rd Sunday  rather a fine day but some cloudy  I did my choars was at the house the most of the day a choaring round & a making soap etc George was here I went to office 3 times and went to bed at 9 sick  Martha & husband was at Blisses [in margin] Martha & Waters were at M Blisses.

24th Monday  rather a fine day but some cloudy  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick with a cold.

25th Tuesday  A fine day but cloudy some  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick with a cold.”

2nd Thursday cool cloudy damp weather I did my choars was at the office all day came home about 8 & went to bed at 9 lonely [in margin] got letter from H Potter.

3rd Friday rather a fine cool day I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home 8 & went to bed at 9 tiard lonely & sick & dishartened received a letter from Caroline Albert Wright wife died this morning.

4th Saturday A cool cloudy day with snow squalls I did my choars was at the office all day came home & went to bed about 9 lonely & sick [in margin] I had a letter from Cal Willson.

5th Sunday A fine cold clear day, ground white with snow & frozen quite hard I did my choars went to office came back & choared round cleaned out my stable & choared round the most of the day wrot some in the evening & went to bed about 9 sick and verry lonely Albert Wrights wife was buried today ________ Methodist Church at 2 oclock a lonely day.

6th Monday A fine pleasant day for Nov I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home 8 & went to bed at 9 tiard lonely [in margin] T Bliss was taken sick at S Blisses a Tuesday.

7th Tuesday a fine day I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 & went to bed at 9 tiard lonely & sick.

8th Wednesday fine weather for the season I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 & went to bed at 9 tiard lonely and nearly sick, dishartened & sad, I received a letter from Caroline with some abuse in it.”

23rd Saturday  A hot disagreeable day & some cloudy, I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard lonely & sick [in margin] Tom Pelham first child was born this Saturday night.

24th Sunday  A cloudy damp morning & showrey forenoon & hot, more pleasant & cool in afternoon  I did my choars went to the store & back, got Bliss horse & wagon & started with Caroline for her fathers about 9 but it rained before we got to S Willsons & we stoped & stayed till 11 & came back, I choared round wrote some etc did my choars & went to bed about 9 tiard & nearly sick & lonely as death.

25th Monday  rather a fine warm day & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard lonely & sick.

26th Tuesday  rather fine weather for the season  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 lonely as death & sick.

27th Wednesday  rather a fine cloudy hot day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 & went to bed about 11 sick & lonely as death & all but dead, Roll Willson came from Coral had a letter sent from Wheaton about Caroline & me which caused hard feeling all round & Caroline packed up her things to leave tomorrow, Rol hurt Shermans mair [in margin] Rol Willson came from Coral & hirt Shermans mair Caroline left for good.”

25th Saturday A fine pleasant day with a cool air, I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home called at John Pomeroys about 8 ½ & stayed till after 11 came home & went to bed about 12 sick & lonely as death.

26th Sunday A most beautiful day with some clouds I did my choars was at the office about 10 came back by Bliss & went to choaring round the house, Mr Pelham came, G Sidwell & H Gould came about 11 & went away one I went to the office about sunset & made up the mail came home about 8 & went to bed about 9 nearly sick & lonely as death Geo Potter & his wife went up to Caroline Wrays started about 12 at noon & got back about dark, they walked up.

27th Monday rather fine for the season I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard & sick.

28th Tuesday rather fine weather for the season I did my choars was at the office all day & in the evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed 9 ½ tiard lonely & sick [in margin] commenced to repair the dam.

16th Friday rather fine weather & the snow a melting conciderable, I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ went to bed 9 ½ Mrs Bliss got home and Charles Estes came with her & stayed with me over night.

17th Saturday rather warm & thawey & mist a little I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 & went to bed about 9 tiard & about sick I had Rusegiue & Jerry Pollard kill my 4 pigs in forenoon & I carried them in at night alone I weighed 200# 1, 220 & 2, about 140 or 50, each Mrs Bli

18th Sunday A warm cloudy damp day, foggy & misty & rained in the evening I did my choars was at the home all day & evening I cut up my hogs and salted them choared round went to the office in the evening came back & wrote some & went to bed a little after 9 tiard & nearly sick have worked hard Mrs Bliss came over here and brought some thurmometers sent by Hiram [in margin] Charles Estes was at Carpenters last night & today.

19th Monday rather fine weather for the season I did my choars was at the office all day & in the evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard & sick.

20th Tuesday rather fine weather I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick.
