19th Wednesday  fine dry growing weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick & worne out.

20th Thursday  fine dry warm weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick & discouraged  shower in morning [in margin] Meeting in the grove for the school  Mrs Carlton or Shaffer an abortion.

21st Friday  A fine day but some cloudy  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at about 10 nearly sick too.

22nd Saturday  A fine day some cloudy & showers in the north & west & a tremendious heavey shower in evening with hail rain & hard winds & tedious night  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 nearly sick.

23rd Sunday  A cloudy damp day & some showers  I did my choars was at the store about 10 came back & choared round the house etc came home and went to bed about 9 nearly sick with a cold.

24th Monday  A fine growing day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick & worn out with trouble.

25th Tuesday  A fine pleasant day & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick & worn out with trouble.”

12th Wednesday  fine weather for corn & grain  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick & worn out with sister.

13th Thursday  fine growing weather  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 9 ½ & went to to bed at 10 nearly sick & worne out  The sherriff served the papers on the Supervisors to stop the county seet proceeding [in margin] Franck grave me a plowing.

14th Friday  fine hot growing weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick & worned out with sister She worrys so much.

15th Saturday  A fine hot growing day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home a little after 9 & went to bed about 10 sick & worne out with sister, Mrs Stone went to Doc Waterman & I fastened up the house except the north door, She came & found the back door fastened & did not come to the north door, & supposed I had fastened all the doors & she went to Barkers & stayed all night.

16th Sunday  A fine warm pleasant day & a getting dry  I did my choars went to the office about 8 & came back choared round the house, fixed my paster fence some wrote some, took a nap etc I went to bed about 9 nearly sick  Sister is verry troublesome.

17th Monday  fine pleasant dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 nearly sick & worn out with sister.

18th Tuesday a fine pleasant day things grow  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10, nearly sick & worne out.”

9th Sunday A fine hot day & night  I did my choars went to the store & back choared round, went to H B Fowlers about 11 & soon came back choared round the rest of the day & went to bed about 9 tiard & nearly sick, went to Naperville with H B Fowler to see a new docter.

10th Monday fine hot growing weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick & worne out.

11th Tuesday  fine growing weather & getting dry  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 tiard out & sick.”

“29th Wednesday  rather cool cloudy damp weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 tiard & about worn out with sister, Ned Murry spoke at the Junction [in margin] Caroline was taken sick.

30th Thursday  A cold cloudy day  I did my choars was at the office all day & in the evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 tiard & worn out with Sister.

31st Friday  rather a fine pleasant day & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 sick with a cold & worn out with sister, the Wheaton people had a county seat meeting at the Meth church Col Sweet, Vallett & others spoke.

June 1st Saturday  A cloudy damp day with several showers  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick & worne out  H H Cody spoke at the Methodist Church this evening & had quite an audiance & spoke well.

2nd Sunday A cloudy windy day & a growing cold  I did my choars was at the office after breckfust came back choared round fixed calf paster etc, went down at 2 with Willa Carpenter to office was at home the most of the day went to bed at 9  Mrs Stone went over the river, George went to Willsons.

3rd Monday  A fine cool day  I did my chaors was at home till after 3, when I went to Garys Mill to an election to remoove the county seat to Wheaton, came back & went to bed about 10 nearly sick with a cold there was a 117 vote to remoove to Wheaton.

4th Tuesday  A fine warm day & evening  I did my chaors was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick with a cold.”

24th Friday cold backward weather rained & hailed a little  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick.

25th Saturday  A cloudy damp morning & cold  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly worn out.

26th Sunday A cold pleasant day I did my choars turned my colt into the paster & fixed my fence & choared round, got Jont Pollards horse & buggy & carried sister out a riding west as far as Finleys came back & choared round & went to bed at 9.

27th Monday  rather fine cold weather for the season  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at  8 ½ & went to bed about 10 tiard & nearly sick with a cold & trouble.

28th Tuesday rather fine but cold for the season  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick with a cold & very kep awake by Sister.”

10th Friday  A fine day with a cool air I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick.

11th Saturday A fine pleasant warm day & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day came home 8 ½ & went to bed at nearly 10 nearly sick with a cold Sister pretty bad.

12th Sunday A fine pleasant morning with a cool north east wind & rained a little about 11 broaken away some about noon  I did my choars went to office for Hammond & fed my cat came back choared round wrote some took a nap was at office in evening came home & went to bed about 9 nearly sick George went up to Williams.

13th Monday fine cool weather for spring  I did my choars was at the office all day came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 tiard & nearly worn out with sister.

14th Tuesday cold but pleasant weather  I did my choars was at the office all day nearly sick came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 tiard & nearly sick with a cold & ____ up.”

May 1st Wednesday  A cold day ice in the water tub as thick as window glass, froze last night  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed 10.

2nd Thursday  A cold day & froze ice quite thick  I did my choars was at the office all day came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick with a cold.

3rd Friday  A cold day & froze quite hard last night  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly sick with a cold.

4th Saturday  rained conciderable during the day & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at about 10 nearly sick.

5th Sunday A cool windy & some cloudy day  I did my choars was round the house the most of the went to the office after breckfust & back in the evening  I choared round the house some, put up a bedsted upstairs etc & went to bed about 9 nearly sick.

6th Monday A fine cold pleasant day with frosts at night  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½  & went to bed at 10 nearly sick.

7th Tuesday  rather cool & frosty & froze  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 tiard & nearly sick with a cold etc.”

26th Friday  A cold morning with ice frozen an 1/8 of an inch  I did my choars was at the office all day came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 nearly.

27th Saturday  A cold morning & froz hard last night ice froze 1/8 inch thick this morning  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening  came home 8 ½ went to bed at 11.

28th Sunday  A cold pleasant morning & day  I did my choars went to the office & back choared round the house the most of the day made up my mail in the evening came home at 8 & went to bed about 9 or after nearly sick  Sister was worse  Dr Estes call toward eve.

29th Monday  rather fine pleasant cool weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 tiard & nearly sick.

30th Tuesday  rather cool weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed near 10 about sick.”

18th Thursday  fine weather for April  I did my choars was at the office all day, came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 tiard lonely & nearly sick [in margin] Milt Piney came.

19th Friday  rather fine weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 tiard lonely & sick  Barber mooved into Pelhams house.

20th Saturday  A fine day with a heavey wind & cool.  I did my choars was at the office all day came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 10 or 10 ½ nearly sick, had to go to the office with Rod Smith for Med for his father about 10, Mrs Stone came here in the evening to stay a while.

21st Sunday  A damp cloudy morning & began to rain at noon quite fast was a wet afternoon  I did my choars was at office about 10 choared round the house the rest of the day corded up the bed etc was at office in evening came home & went to bed about 10 nearly sick.

22nd Monday  rather fine cool weather for April  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 nearly sick with a cold.

14th Sunday  A cloudy day & sprinkled a good shower of the day  I did my choars was at the house the most of the day called at the store 3 times & Bliss twice choared round the house & went to bed at about 9 nearly sick with a cold Doctor C Estes was here & went to Connells & cut off Mrs Connels pallet & then went home.
