28th Wednesday  rather a fine day for the season  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard lonely & about sick with a cold etc.

29th Thursday  fine weather but cloudy  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold etc [in margin] Thanksgiven day.

30th Friday  A fine day & warmer, the ground freezes a little at night  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a  cold etc.

December 1st Saturday  rather a fine cool day & beautiful night  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 9 & went to bed about 10 nearly sick with a  cold etc.

2nd Sunday  A most beautiful day with the ground frozen a little in morning  I did my choars was at the office after breckfust came back & choared round the house fixed some fence, cleaned out my pig pen wrote some etc went to the office in evening came home & went to bed at 9 nearly sick.

3rd Monday  rather cold rainey weather for the season  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

4th Tuesday  cloudy but more fine than yesterday  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.”

21st Wednesday  rather a cold cloudy raw day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard lonely & sick William Hollister & Eva Carpenter were married by E. L. Hunt at Carpenters today & went to Chicago in afternoon & to St. Louis tomorrow  William Carpenter & Netta Fowler & S Heys & Sarah Jane Carpenter stood up with the bride & groom they had quite a wedding.

22nd Thursday  a cloudy cold disagreeable day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & about sick.

23rd Friday rather a cool cloudy day & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

24th Saturday  rather a fine day  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

25th Sunday rather a fine pleasant day & evening but cool  I did my choars was at the office three times was at home the most of the day a choaring round was at Carolines some in evening came home at ____ wrote & went to bed at 9 nearly sick  Wm Whitny came & brought Gould wife & child up & Willson went & wife & carried them back as Whitny was selubrious  Gould got kick with a colt last night.

26th Monday  rather a fine cloudy day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick with a cold & lonely as can be.

27th Tuesday  rather a fine cool cloudy day  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold, lonely.”

15th Thursday  fine cool weather  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ about sick.

16th Friday  rather fine weather  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

17th Saturday  A fine cool & some cloudy day & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick  R B Pollard came home from Iowa  wher Ed Brown was.

18th Sunday  rather a fine morning but cloudy in middle & after part of day & sprinkled at about 2 or 3  I did my choars was round home the most of the day went to the office twice, the last time with Goulds & Whitny  his wife called at Willsons a short time & they went back as it began to sprinkle  Willson & Caroline eat supper here I was at Willsons in evening came home went to bed between 8 & 9 tiard & about sick with a cold Matta Gould stayed overnight.

19th Monday  rather a fine day & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ tiard lonely & nearly sick.

11th Sunday  rather a cool cloudy damp day  I did my choars choared round the house the most of the day went to the office 3 times fixed my hen house etc went to bed at 9 Sherman & Rol Willson & family eat supper [in margin] Sherman & family eat here.

12th Monday  rather a fine day & evening  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick heifer went to bull.

13th Tuesday  rather fine weather  I did my choars was at the office all day came home 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick H P Rodgers went home with his wife.”

32nd Annual Christmas Fest Craft and Bake Sale, this Saturday!

The Warrenville Museum Guild will be hosting the 32nd Annual Christmas Fest Craft & Bake Sale on Saturday, November 5th from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., at the Warrenville Community Baptist Church, located at 28W444 Main Street, Warrenville.

Attendees can get their holiday shopping started while supporting the Historical Society. Gift baskets, seasonal decorations, gift items, handmade tree ornaments and baked goods will be available for sale. Complimentary tea, coffee, cookies and holiday music will set a festive theme.

Raffle tickets will also be sold for the event and can be purchased prior to the Fest at the Museum or at the Tavern on the day of the Fest. Purchase a chance to win a cozy knit afghans, a handmade quilt or Holiday basket.  Proceeds benefit the Warrenville Historical Society.warrenville-store

Historical Society historic ornaments will also be available for purchase, including the new Warrenville Store ornament, and local history books. The Warrenville Store ornament was made possible by the generous donation of Robert “Bob” Sleep.
