Those in attendance were also treated to hearing from Chris Hodge, our 2015 Albright-inspired Artist-in-Residence, and his progress on two original pieces based on Ivan Albright’s work. Chris was the first artist to hold a studio in the gallery as part of the new Artist-in-Residency Program supported by a City of Warrenville Hotel Motel Tax Fund.

Chris Hodge's progress on a piece inspired by Ivan Albright's "Among Those Left," which used local blacksmith Hugo Kleinwachter as a model.

After hearing from Chris and seeing his work, our director/curator, Sara Phalen, presented on the history of Adam Emory Albright and his twin sons, Ivan and Malvin, who used the Museum’s building as an art gallery from 1924-1957. It was a great night learning and enjoying the art that has been created over the years in our wonderful community!
