Civil War Diaries, September 28, 1862

Ashley Carpenter Diary Entry:

“Sept. 28  Sabbath morning found me at Home.  Went to Church.  Called at Mrs. Holmes to bid them adieu.  Jimme & Frank were over to see us in the evening.”

Hiram Leonard Diary Entry:

28th Sunday  A cloudy damp morning & looked like rain, cloudy some all day, but brook away & was pleasant & hot in middle of day I did my choars eat breckfust, started Wray & wife off for McNellys went to the store & Hoyts came back after 10 choared round, wrote some & called at Hoyts near night came home about 9 & went to bed about sick.  Wray & wife got back about dark from McNellys.”
