Civil War Diaries, September 19, 1862

Ashley Carpenter Diary Entry:

“Sept. 19  Went to the lake to wash.  Went on drill at 9 oclock.  Father & Willie came to see me.  Staid until after dinner.

Rob [Robert Corlet] went town with them for his photographs.

Cousin Leyda & Emma & a Miss Fuller paid me a visit.  Also saw Almyra Fairbanks.

Visited the hospital & went to Meeting in the evening.”

Hiram Leonard Diary Entry:

19th Friday  a fine day for Sept.  I did my choars was at the office the most of the day & evening came home by Hoyts about 8 ½ got home about 9 & went to bed about 10 tiard & nearly sick.  Judson Graves came home.”
