Civil War Diaries, September 7, 1862

Ashley Carpenter Diary Entry:

“Sept. 7  Agreeably found myself at home.  Went to meeting & saw many kind friends.

Slept most of the afternoon.  Bade Mr. J. Hollister Good Bye in the evening.  Spent perhaps the last night at Home for a long time.”

Hiram Leonard Diary Entry:

7th Sunday  rather a fine day.  I did my choars was at home the most of the day & evening called at the office & Hoyts twice came home about 9 & went to bed a little after 9 nearly sick.  H. Gould here [in margin] H Gould was here & family.”
