Hiram E. Leonard Diary, August 2, 1862

2nd Saturday  A fine hot day but some cloudy.  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening.  I sold my oats & hayed them up worked the most of the day pretty hard & was tuckered out got home about ½ past 9 & had left the house key at the store & had to go back after it came home & went to bed about 10 ½ tiard & sick, I had 386 26/72 b. & Doct sent 10 bushels oats & got 24 ½ cts at home.  Wm finished stacking hay today.  Brooks Austin helped him.”
