Warrenville & The American Civil War: 1862 in 48 Minutes

On Sunday, May 20th, at 3:00pm, at the Warren Tavern, the Historical Society will host “1862 in 48 Minutes.” This original program details the historic second year of the Civil War, month by month, highlighting local and national events. Aided by a visual presentation, presenters will detail life in Warrenville and the events facing our country during the War.

As our nation continues to honor the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War, this multi-media talk is part of the Historical Society’s four year program “Warrenville & The American Civil War.” Please also stop by the Museum and see our exhibit 1862 displaying materials from the historic year and the brave men who left Warrenville to fight for our country, including the soldier’s diary of Ashley Carpenter.

The program is free to the public and light refreshments will be served. Please contact the Historical Society with any questions. The Tavern is located next to the Historical Museum & Art Gallery, at 3S540 Second Street.
