Hiram E. Leonard Diary, March 19, 1862

19th Wednesday  rather fine muddy weather & some cloudy.  I did my choars was at the office all day & evening came home about 9 by Hoyts & Wrays & went to bed about 10 as usual nearly sick.  James Brown & D Kenyon stayed last night at Naperville & Kenyon found Browns horse & Buggy up in the woods back of the Murry farm with the horse down in a mud puddle with his hed in the mud & water dead he died last night.”
