Hiram E. Leonard Diary, January 9, 1862

9th Sunday  A cold morning & fine pleasant day & evening but cool, the mercury stood in the thermometer at about sunrise 10 degrees below zero, at noon it was 10 degrees about zero.  I did my choars was round home till near noon then went to office & called at Hoyts came home choared round wrote some etc was at Hoyts & Wrays in evening came home about 8 & went to bed on lounge between 9 & 10 nearly sick.  Wray & Noonen & families went to H. Gould about 10 & got home about dark.”
